Florence Mae McCallum

Florence Graduation

Penfield, NY:  February 25, 2019.  Florence was born in Butte, Montana on May 4, 1940 to a hard-working ranch family where her down to earth values took root. She later moved to the Rochester, NY area in 1959 where she resided until she passed away on February 25, 2019.

Florence is predeceased by her father Kenneth McCallum, mother Elizabeth Baker McCallum Hokanson, step-father Fred Hokanson, and sister Dolly Wood. She is survived by her sister Jenette Mitchell, sister Doris Baker-Ryen, and brother Keith (and Dawn) McCallum.

She is survived by her five children: Richard (and Christine) Chrisley of Penfield, NY, John Chrisley of Batavia, NY, Christina (and James) Cunningham of Rochester, NY, Renee Belknap of South Byron, NY, and Annette Chrisley (and Michael Barrett) of Penfield, NY.

Surviving grandchildren are Richard Chrisley III (and Robin Woodfield), Zachariah Chrisley, Christopher Fuino, LeAnne (and Michael) Welch, Elena Robillard, Richard (and Stacy) Belknap, Kenneth (and Shannon) Belknap, Alden Belknap, Molly Belknap, Steffany Vahue (and James Turner), and Brandon Hawley.

Other surviving family members include many nieces and nephews across the US from Alaska to Montana to Arizona and great-grandchildren: Madison Belknap, Sarah Belknap, Shane Belknap, Jordan Welch, Connor Welch and Brooklyn Welch.

Florence was originally interested in the airline industry and graduated from a Minneapolis MN college before moving to Rochester, NY where she married in 1960.  She worked at Flower City Tissue Mills Co. from 1966 to 2005 when she retired.  She could look at a piece of colored tissue paper from any store and tell you if it came from her mill.

Devoted to her Montana roots and family she loaded up her children in the car each year for the long cross-country trek to her childhood home.  Many adventures and colorful stories accompanied these journeys.  She loved travel and took her family to many sites of interest in the western states.  Later in life she expanded her travels to Ireland, Australia and Alaska.

Florence will forever be known and appreciated as a hard-working single mother who selflessly provided for and raised 5 children on her own.

A Celebration of Life Service for Florence will be held from 1PM-3PM on her birthday, May 4, 2019, at the Harper Park Rochester Recreation Building. It is on the corner of Linden Avenue and Norhill Drive next to 702 Linden Avenue, Rochester, NY, 14625. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

God Bless you mom. You will always be in our hearts and our memories!
