Florence was originally interested in the airline industry and graduated from a Minneapolis MN college before moving to Rochester, NY where she married in 1960. She worked at Flower City Tissue Mills Co. from 1966 to 2005 when she retired. She could look at a piece of colored tissue paper from any store and tell you if it came from her mill.
Devoted to her Montana roots and family she loaded up her children in the car each year for the long cross-country trek to her childhood home. Many adventures and colorful stories accompanied these journeys. She loved travel and took her family to many sites of interest in the western states. Later in life she expanded her travels to Ireland, Australia and Alaska.
Florence will forever be known and appreciated as a hard-working single mother who selflessly provided for and raised 5 children on her own.
A Celebration of Life Service for Florence will be held from 1PM-3PM on her birthday, May 4, 2019, at the Harper Park Rochester Recreation Building. It is on the corner of Linden Avenue and Norhill Drive next to 702 Linden Avenue, Rochester, NY, 14625. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
