Genevieve "Ginger" Key - Canandaigua, NY - Rochester Cremation

Genevieve “Ginger” Key passed away peacefully in her home on April, 28th 2020 in Canandaigua NY. She was 64.

Ginger was born on December 7th 1955 in Rochester, NY to parents William Key and Virginia Lathrop. Ginger enjoyed caring for her dog Paco and crocheting. She had a love for animals, nature and camping. She was extremely fond of owls and had a massive collection of figurine owls. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Ginger is survived by her long time companion Mike Allen, Son James Shaff, Daughters Crystal Fackelman (Robert) Carrie Allen (Tryphena), Grandchildren Kayla, Katlin, Julianna, Jacob, Robert Jr, Sophia and Jordan. Great granddaughter Chevelle, Brothers Steve and Dennis, Sisters Elaine, Ruth and Cheryl. Many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Brothers William, David, Eugene and Kenneth, Sisters Phyllis, Sandra, and Judith.

The family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the staff at Thompson Hospital and ICU unit for the beautiful compassionate care she received in her final days.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Hungry owl project at hungryowls.org or to the Hospice Foundation of America.
