Gerald W. O’Brien, Jr.
“Jerry”
February 20, 1961 – November 23, 2024
Jerry passed away peacefully after spending his final days surrounded by family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Jerry and Dolores O’Brien, and brother Scott O’Brien. Jerry will be missed by his daughters Melissa (Colin) Corner and Jess O’Brien, grandson Teddy Corner, and siblings Eileen (Marty) Wolff, Eric (Evy) O’Brien, Shawn (Tammy) O’Brien, and Scott’s life partner, Lisa Lodar, along with an extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends.
Jerry was an avid biker and was a member of several motorcycle clubs; the Widows Sons, American Legion Riders (Post 468), and the Patriot Guard Riders. He enjoyed riding for fun as well as participating in charity rides and supporting Veterans’ causes.
Jerry lived his life on his own terms, never losing sight of what was important to him. He worked hard to recover from double leg amputations and was determined to remain positive and maintain his independence. He was an inspiration to many.
The family would like to thank Jerry’s home care team, Erica Andressi and Karen Lane, as well as the incredible staff at Hildebrandt Hospice Center for their compassionate care and friendship with Jerry.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a future date.
I’m so sorry for your loss! Sending so much love and light to Melissa, Colin, Teddy, and Jess.
We don’t say good bye in Ireland instead until we meet again in the great highway journey to heaven!
As someone who never truly met Jerry, he still was an inspiration to me, and honestly he may have saved my life.
When I first got hurt, and lost my foot I was lost and ready to give up, he was the first amputee I talked to, and he convinced me that it was far from over.
I never really got a chance to thank him for that….
You are missed. I only got to meet you a few times, but you left a lasting impression on me. I will never forget you.
Love, Aunt Paige.
Sorry for your loss 🙏 Jerry was a great guy. He would make me laugh every night at work. He will be missed
My condolences. Jerry was a gentleman, caring man. A good friend and brother to his Masonic/ Widows Sons family. He always listened to other brothers, helped if he could. Cracked jokes whenever one of us did something stupid. It was always a pleasure to talk and hang around with Jerry. The memories of Jerry will forever be within me. Jerry will definitely be missed.
Gone too soon! RIP Jerry 🙏
Please accept our deepest condolences. Jerry was a wonderful soul!
I am so sorry for the loss of Jerry. We went to high school and hung out occasionally drinking some beers! Truly a one of a kind man who has endured alot over the years. Hopefully you are at peace my friend!
Flash we met online so many years ago. I think it was around 2000. Wow! Unbelievable! You were always a wonderful friend. Even when I hounded you about donuts and other things lol. I think we actually saw each other in person 4 times in all those years you were there to run off the bad boyfriends, help with the single parent advice, and give me that kick in butt talk to when I was feeling down. Well now that you’re in a better place please don’t stop keeping us all in line and watching over all of your Krankit Radio girls. Jen, Missy and Me sure do love and miss you so much! What I wouldn’t give for just another day with all of us together! Including Doideb, Toits, Petra, Rick, Dog and the list goes on, Bear Hugs Babe
Jerry, I will forever remember and miss you. Life- long friends, Rest easy.
Jerry and I met because we are both amputees. Although living in Phoenix we didn’t see each other we did get together once a couple years ago when I flew to Rochester. He was so positive and upbeat. We shared some stores and talked for about an hour. I’ll never forget this.

Sweet Gerry always made me laugh. Our love of Ireland 🇮🇪 was shared in conversations with great pride. Pleasure to have worked with him as he was a great soul. God bless him and prayers to his children and family.
My Prayers and Thoughts go out Jerry’s Family and friends.
I worked with Jerry at Nylomold Corp (plastic injection molding) back in the mid 80’s on Ling Road
He was in his Red Jeep…
He would make a beer run for employees that stayed at the end of the shift and cleaned up.
We’d all hang out back of the building and we could watch and hear the Movie at the Lakeshore Drive In next to the Ice Rink.
He was a great guy and co worker. He will be missed by all that knew him. R.I.P. Jerry
