Gertrude A. VanEps April 19 1938 – August 11 2023 – age 85
Leaves behind daughter, Diane VanEps, son, Kenneth (Julianne) VanEps,
and adopted daughter, Mary Umpierre. Also a brother, Stan (Cora) King,
niece, Stephanie (Chris) King, nephew, David, and a sister, Sue Dowe.
She was a loving mother with a very generous spirit. She worked her
job so that she could own her farm, where she was able to enjoy riding
her horse, raising goats and sheep, along with her chickens, all of
which were pampered. She even had a blind chicken that lived very well
and for a long time. She also took in stray cats and adopted dogs.
Revelations 21:3,4 – (3) With that I heard a loud voice from the
throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside
with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with
them. (4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death
will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
The former things have passed away.
Her Faith will carry her through to the New System, to be in Paradise.
Her laughter and guidance will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hilderbrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave. Rochester, NY 14626, or any Animal Rescue Organization.

One of the most impactful experiences of my childhood were our summers spent on Aunt Trudy’s farm – mucking out the horse barn, haying, following her around as she did her morning chores, playing in the creek out back, and our quiet evenings watching tv waiting for the cats to come out from their hiding spots. She was a kind and generous soul. I hope her passing was eased by being surrounded by loved ones and that their grief can be comforted by the sentiments from those who knew her and in each other. Love and miss you Aunt Trudy.
Thank you, Stephanie, for your beautiful expression of sympathy. It is much appreciated.
~Sincerely,
The VanEps Family🐾
Diane- I always loved the stories about your mom that you told- her fierce independence, her love for the farm and her chickens- I’m so sorry for your loss, but know she’ll always be with you in spirit.
