Giselle Marie Gonsoulin of Rochester, New York, died in peace on August 27, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Bermuda on July 28, 1968, to Judith and Dennis Gonsoulin, Giselle graduated from Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, in 1987. She attended the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of Rochester Institute of Technology, and graduated with an associate’s degree in accounting technology in 1997. She later completed a dental assistant certification
Giselle was a “foodie;” she loved Cajun, Asian, Greek, and Mexican food. She also enjoyed camping, kayaking, and hiking with her many devoted friends and colleagues. In addition, Giselle took much pride in her home and yard. A highlight of her life was her two nieces and her nephew, who brought great joy to her, especially at the end. Her favorite place on Earth was Elbow Beach, Bermuda, where her “fairy dust” will be spread.
She is survived by her life partner Jennifer Anderson Briggs, Labrador retriever Luna, mother Judith Gonsoulin and grandmother Doreen Repose (Bermuda), and sister and brother in law, Iris and Troy Munson, and nieces Sophie Marie Munson and Lily Victoria Munson and nephew Wyatt James Munson (Rochester, NY). She is predeceased by her father Dennis Gonsoulin, uncle Keith Repose, grandfather Ernest Repose, andgreat grandparents Valentina and Manuel Cabral.
A Memorial Service celebrating Giselle’s life will held at her home, 40 Olde Tavern Circle, Greece, 14612, from 3-8 pm, Sunday, August 30th. The service will be at 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, Giselle requested donations to GRASP-Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets, GRASP, PO Box 26741, Rochester NY 14626.
