Gloria Read - Rochester Cremation

Churchville, NY – March 18, 2024 at the age of 80. Born on September 1,1943 to Mabel and Harry English in Clearfield, PA. Married to Jesse J. Read on December 3,1960.

Gloria is predeceased by her husband, parents and sister Helen Hoover.

She is survived by her children: Tracy L. Read, Jeffrey (Shanaz) Read, Scot (Lisa) Read and Denise (Charles) Coco. Grandchildren: Randi Wagner, Samantha (Dylan) Heckert, Charles J. (Catie) Salmon, Sara (Brendan) O’Brien, Haley Read, Tracy N. Read, Zoe and Jeffrey Read, Elaina M. Read. Great-Grandchildren: Jesse D. Read, Gabriella and Alexander Heckert, Liahna and MacKenzie Stoller, Quinn and Ronan O’Brien. Sisters: Barbara (Bruce) Casher, Virginia Lauder, Diana (Allen) Kennedy, Sharon Shaw, brother-in-law, William Hoover. Many nieces, nephews and cousins, friends and Church family at Grace Church of The Nazarene.

Gloria loved all the people that she would meet, she was generous and kind. She would do all she could to help. She loved Jesus with all of her being and is blessed to be by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 6th, starting at 1:00 PM with gathering of family and friends, Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, followed by a Luncheon at Grace Church of The Nazarene, 2924 South Union Street, Rochester, NY 14624.

    Gloria was a very special lady and a wonderful friend. I am blessed to have had her in my life. She was loved by all and will be missed, but I am thankful she is with Jesus and we will see her again.

    Sara, Brendan, Quinn and Ronan I am so very sorry for the loss of your Grandmother and Great Grandmother. I’m guessing you all brought her great joy. May you be comforted by your sweet memories.

    Gloria was a good friend to my mil until her passing in 2020. She was always friendly and willing to share Jesus as the reason for her joy.
