Grace Sarah DeGroat went home to Jesus on October 2, 2021 at age 85.
Grace was born to John and Olive Kellner on March 21, 1936 in Binghamton, NY. That day the Susquehanna river flowed backwards.
Grace first met her husband, Cornelius in 1949 at church in Lyons, NY. They married on June 30, 1953 on the nationally televised show “Bride and Groom”. They went on to have four sons, Chuck, Dick, Bobby, and Dan.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Grace also loved playing piano and organ, and being the number one fan for her son’s, daughter’s and grandkid’s activities. Throughout her entire life, she was a woman of prayer and held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Grace joins her brothers John and Paul, her sisters Faith, Lois and Olive, and her son Bobby in Heaven. She is survived by her husband Cornelius, children Chuck (Cindy), Dick (Denise), Dan (Danielle), Bonnie (Jack), 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 7th at 11am, at the Spencerport Assembly of God Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spencerport Assembly of God, 3940 Canal Road, Spencerport NY 14559
