Heather Smith

Heather Smith - Rochester Cremation

After a long health battle, Heather passed away peacefully on her terms surrounded by family in Rochester, NY, on December 26th, 2022. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on June 5th, 1957, she always considered the beautiful hills of Western Massachusetts home.

Heather was an avid nature, music, and animal lover. She started working in the restaurant and hotel business when she was young. It was there she met her husband of 38 years Scott. After leaving the hospitality world behind, she owned and operated her own pet store with Scott for 20 years. The family relocated to Rochester NY in the late 90s, and Heather devoted her time raising her daughter and eventually her granddaughter while also focusing on her love for gardening. This also allowed for her to continue to explore her love for music and going to live concerts no matter who was playing. As long as it was good, she was always there for it.

She is survived by her husband Scott (Smith), her daughter Linsey (Adam) Szabo, her sister Beth (Kent) Cumblad, and brothers Mike (Helen) Bouley, and John (Shelia) Bouley, her grand daughters Katie and Iris along with many loved nieces and nephews.

In passing, she joins her loving parents Ovid and Phyllis, her nephews David and Eric, her niece Ashley, and most especially her beloved daughter Stephanie.

Heather’s wish was to not hold a service, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scott for their grandchildren’s college funds if so inclined.

Those who knew her knew she was a very unique soul. Heather lived her life and passed to the next B-B-B-B-Bad to the bone.

She certainly was b-b-b-bad to the bone! I’ll miss my crazy sister-in-law and our family fire cracker. I hope she enjoys her time puttering around the heavenly gardens. Until we meet again…..
