Heather Sue Russell

Heather Sue Russell, 48, of Canandaigua, passed away on October 26, 2022, after an intense battle with cancer.

Heather was born October 8, 1974, in Geneva, NY. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1993 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent her nursing career caring for those in nursing homes. It was apparent how much she enjoyed spending time with the residents she took care of by how she was able to build relationships with them. She also had numerous friends; she was very engaging and could make anyone laugh. People enjoyed being around Heather.

Heather also enjoyed spending time with her family, usually having a meal out or cooking at home. She had an uncanny ability to make any recipe her own and typically made it better than the original. Heather was proud of her culinary knowledge. She was also very good at finding a deal shopping no matter what she was looking for or the time of year.

Heather is survived by her son Griffin and her parents, Patricia (Woody) Stenz and Charles (Janet) Russell. She also leaves behind her long-time significant other, Christopher, as well as her siblings: Jennifer (Thomas), Rebecca (Michael), Bethany, Irene (Marc), and stepbrother Will. Heather will be missed by her nephews Aiden, Derrick, Devin, Ethan, and nieces Amelia and Zola.  She was predeceased by her sister Amy in 2016.

Her family will plan a Celebration of Life at a later date.
