James Lewis Brown passed away on June 28, 2024 he was 72 years old.
Born in Wilmington North, Carolina on November 3rd,1953 to Nathaniel and Ida Brown.
In 1957 with his parents and siblings, moved to Rochester New York where he attend elementary at school #4.
At an early age James was baptized at the Jefferson Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church where he was a member.
He attend Madison High school and graduated in 1970. As an adult, James worked many jobs but working at Allwright Parking was his favorite.
He met and fell in love with Annie Lee and was a father figure to her baby girl Tabitha. He later met and married Teresa Powell out of that union were born two sons James Jr. and Johnathan.
James had a love for music. He played several instruments which included the bass guitar, trumpet, horns and like his father the harmonica.
He also had a love for dance and after his name sake and was known for “breakin’ ankles” doing the James Brown!
He could be seen at any given time riding one of his Many bikes around town.
He loved the Lord with all of his heart and had a passion for talking about and sharing the Word of God.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, James Brown Jr. And Johnathan Brown of Rochester, NY. One daughter Tabitha (James) Jones of Rochester, NY. 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Two special nieces, Colleen Brumfield and Lisa Crawford a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents Nathaniel and Ida Brown, brothers Madison Sellars, David Brown, and Howard Brown and sister Eliza Brown-Berry.
