ROCHESTER, NY – December 26, 2022 at age 58. James is predeceased by his mother, Sharon Phillips, and father, James A. Phillips. He is survived by his daughter, Brianna Phillips; his son, Michael Phillips; his former wife, Cheryl Phillips; his sister Debra (David) Zimmerman; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and other loving family and friends.
A life-long Rochester resident, James was a gifted athlete who played varsity baseball and basketball several years for West Irondequoit High; graduating from there in 1982. He was a skilled carpenter who used his talents to make improvements and additions to homes around the area. James was a dedicated Buffalo Bills fan and loved motor sports, attending many games and races with family and friends over the years. He was loved very much and will be missed.
In keeping with his final wishes, there will be no formal ceremonies. Please remember him fondly and keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
