Jeffery Stephen Goppert

Jeff Goppert - Rochester Cremation

Jeffery Stephen Goppert, 65, of Pittsford, NY, passed away peacefully in his home, with his loving wife by his side on 03/27/2024 from natural causes.

Jeff was born on 07/31/1958 to Raymond and Martha Goppert in New Hartford, NY. After Jeff graduated from Utica Free Academy, he went on to study History at Geneseo State University.

After graduating with a degree in History, Jeff worked in the non-profit sector at the ARC of Monroe as Transportation Manager and finished his professional career at the American Red Cross as a Logistics Manager.

In 2007, Jeff met his spouse, Doris, on Match.com. and connected immediately over their shared parenting experiences and love of Springsteen music.  Jeff and Doris were not only spouses, but they were also each other’s best friends and loved one another deeply.

Jeff spent his time following current world events and reading about history. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Yankees and English Premier League futbol.

He enjoyed sharing in the joy of Doris’ grandchildren and he loved his daughter dearly.

He had a deep appreciation of solitude and independence with a love of music and books. He was a man of few words and deep thought.

Jeff was predeceased by his parents and brother Raymond Goppert Jr. He is survived by his spouse, Doris Green (Vawter), his daughter Melissa Katherine Goppert, his sisters, Mary Leone and Linda Goppert, Doris’ daughters, Leanna Green, and Christina Mead (spouse Eric Mead), and Doris’ granddaughters Jada Cortes and Natalea Williams.

With respect to Jeff’s wishes, services will not be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to UR Medicine Hospice, an organization that helped both Jeff and Doris through a very difficult time.

Jeff’s wit, humor, and compassion will be missed by all who knew him.

Beautiful photo of the two of you. Beautifully worded obituary. Jeff had so many interests throughout his life and I can feel the love he had for his family. Taken way too soon and I am sorry for this loss. I believe he is not too far away and will be watching down upon you from above.
