Jo Anne Dold

Jo Anne passed away on June 29, 2021 at the age of 89.  Jo Anne is predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis R Dold; parents Frank & Mary Slyck; brother Frank Slyck Jr.; niece Sandra Slyck; sister-in-law Rosemary Williams and great nephew Jon Slyck. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Dold; 2 sons: Thomas (Gail) Dold and Gary Dold; grandson Erik Dold; sister Mary Lou Sponn and cousin Sr. Edna Slyck.  She also leaves several other close family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Jo Anne grew up on Alberta Street in the City of Rochester and graduated from West High in 1950.  She met Lou while each were taking lessons at Arthur Murray’s Dance Studio.  They married in 1954, raised their family and enjoyed a happy 60 years together.  Jo Anne worked part time in the Spencerport Munn School cafeteria where she was fondly called the “Sandwich Queen”.  Known as a wonderful cook, her German potato salad was always a favorite at family reunions.  Jo Anne’s love of family, friends and her Catholic faith were the guiding principles in her life.  She and Lou were always there to lend a helping hand, welcome others into their home and share a laugh .

Jo Anne’s Calling hours will be at Arndt Funeral Home, 1118 Long Pond Road (south of Maiden Lane) on Monday, July 5th from 3-6 pm.  Her funeral mass will be at St. Lawrence Church (North Greece Road) on Tuesday, July 6th at 9:30 am.  Memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Church or Feed the Children.
