Jo Hawkins (54) was born February 5,1969. She is predeceased by parents Patricia Clark and John “skip” Clark Sr. She passed away peacefully in her home on October 14,2023 in the town of Mount Morris.
Jo is survived by her children Stephanie Fleming, Tricia Wheeler, Ashley Wheeler, Michelle (Adam) Bortle and John Fleming. She is also survived by grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Even though life gave Jo many obstacles she always managed to put one foot in front of the other and managed to “just keep swimming”.
Friends and family are welcome to come to her memorial and celebration of life on Saturday, October 28th from 4p-7p at the American Legion Hally-Allen Post, 7150 Sonyea Rd & 36, N Sonyea, NY 14556.
Her daughter has requested pink or camo to be worn as those were Jo’s two favorite things.
Jo was such an amazing person. always smiling, and laughing. Ready to help if she saw someone who was in need. I still remember the first time we met. Shy at first, it didn’t take long for her to warm up to us “crazy ladies” and join in the fun. Not sure who laughed more that day.
And although Shawn and I planned on a small wedding (no bridesmaids/groomsmen) due to lack of funds, Jo got the girls & guys together, knowing that I had a pink camo garter and they all showed up in Pink Camo Shirts with black skirts for the Girls & Green Camo shirts and jeans for the guys. It was perfect and I am so grateful to her for making our special day, all that more special and memorable! <3
She was one of a kind and will truly be missed. I am so very glad that we got to know her and call her friend.
