On January 22, 2022, Joan Christina Schrimp (Mulgrew) passed away peacefully at age 85 after a long battle of Dementia. Joan is survived by 3 siblings Joseph (NY), Terry (FL) and Francis (NY), her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Diane Schrimp (CA), her brother-in-law Larry Schrimp, and her 5 children and their spouses, (Frank W. Schrimp II. and Sue, Ken Schrimp and predeceased Stacey, Ricky Schrimp and Donna, Christina Celentano and Gary, and Ron Schrimp Sr. She had 11 grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband Frank W. Schrimp Sr.; all reside in NY.
It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, she was an exceptional wife and mother. Her favorite memory and what she enjoyed most was taking her kids to Greenwood Lake, NY where she would spend weekends with her siblings and mother and all the kids. Later she relocated with her husband outside of Rochester, NY and resided there until her passing. Her family would like to extend a Thank you to the staff at the Kirkhaven facility and a special Thanks to “Jen”, our mothers private nurse for the support and care they provided.
