John (Freddy) V Hickey Jr.

John Hickey - Rochester Cremation
In loving memory of John (Freddy) V Hickey Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Freddy) V Hickey Jr on October 23rd, 2024, at the age of 69.  John was born on June 17th, 1955, to John and Marion (Meigs) Hickey.  John was a loving father to his 5 beautiful children, 7 grandchildren, and a loyal friend.  While most of his working years were at Kodak, John also worked in landscaping and retired from Walmart.  While enjoying retirement, Freddy enjoyed fishing, golfing, trips to the casino and playing quick draw, but mostly enjoyed being with those that loved him.  Whether it was at home with family, going to Red Wings games, or at the American Legion Post with friends he truly enjoyed every minute.
Survived by: daughter’s Lisa G. (Collins) Hickey, Carin L. (Abbey) Hickey, and Michelle R. Hickey; son’s John V. Hickey, and Jeffrey R. Hickey; son in law Jason Colins; grandchildren Adrianna N. Collins, Jayden A. Westcott, Gavin T. Abbey, Wyatt C. Abbey, Caleb J. Hickey, Jacob C. Bermudez, and Stephen I. Bermudez.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester New York 14626 or at Home and Hospice Care | Rochester Regional Health.

I’m retired now in Philippines but remember Fred who was a yr. older than me & lived around the block in Greece. My thoughts/prayers w/his children/family during this time. He faced challenges early on but had a good heart. In high school we worked together Friday nites at Schukarts in W Ridge Plaza & after would sneak over to Circle Spot & get a pitcher of beer or two & shoot pool w/old guys. R.I.P. Freddy, yur a colorful guy who gave me a good childhood memory. ❤️
