John S. Kelly - Pittsford, NY - Rochester Cremation

PITTSFORD NY:  November 26, 2021, at the age of 75

John was the eldest of seven born to Susanna and Martin Kelly.  John is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Stephanie and his siblings Ellen Kelly and Patrick Kelly.  He is survived by his children Matthew and Laura Kelly, siblings Thomas Kelly, Michael Kelly, Sharon Kelly, and Joanne Conlon (Michael), grandchildren DeLaney and Henry Kelly, a host of nieces and nephews and his partner, Susan Staples.

John was a fourth-generation homebuilder in the Rochester area for over 40 years.  An avid sports enthusiast, John was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan.  He enjoyed high school and college football and lacrosse. He also loved playing softball and golf outings with family and friends.

John was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.   And always proud of his Irish heritage, John made St. Patrick’s Day a family holiday.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held on February 12, 2022, from 1 – 3 p.m., St. Paul Firemen’s Exempt Club, 690 Thomas Ave., Irondequoit, 14697.  We invite John’s family and many friends to join us.

John received tender and compassionate end of life care in Highland Hospital Hospice during his last days.   Please consider making a donation in John’s name to Highland Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY.

    John was a great human being and a great friend since I had met him. Loved his wife and family and always knew some great jokes. Hearty laugh and great smile. He is missed.

    He was my best friend through grammar school at Christ the King. John always had a great sense of humor and a love of adventure. A nicer, kinder heart you will never find.
