Rochester – Passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 15, 2019. Predeceased by his parents, Millicent and John Eveland, he is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sandy, daughter Maghan (Ryan) Wormuth, son Joshua, sister Sarah (Linda), brother Jonathan (Stephanie) and grandchildren Amelia and Benjamin.
Joe’s loving family included many lifelong friends including his best friend, Mark Purdell who unexpectedly passed just days before Joe did. We like to think that Mark just wanted to get there first and wipe the table before the Euchre game started. Joe’s love of music was well known to all his friends and happily, he was listening to the Grateful Dead at the very end.
We plan a celebration of Joe’s life for sometime in the spring and we will be sure to send out all the details. Thank you to all the family and friends that helped us through a very difficult 2 weeks.
I had the pleasure of working With Joe for many years. I never met a more friendly, helpful, caring individual. He always had a smile and a good word to say about everyone.He will be missed by all that knew him.
Joe was such a kind hearted soul. He will be truly missed so very much.
