Juan Martinez, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, 7/02/1921. Passed away peacefully on 4/29/2020 in Rochester, New York at 98 years of age.
Juan moved to the mid-west in 1950s and later settled in Rochester, New York. He was a retiree of Sears, Roebuck and Co. He was a fan of collage art and often replicated works of his own. Juan loved to cook and share his recipes with others. He had many acquaintances and loved to socialize. He was active in the local senior community – even appearing on several marketing posters! His outgoing and giving nature will be remembered.
He is survived by children Juan H. Martinez (“Tato”) of San Juan, P.R., Desi L. Martinez and John M. Martinez of Rochester, New York, longtime partner Audrey (“Angie”) Hill of Rochester, New York, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces/nephews. He is pre-deceased by brothers Raphael Canales and Pedro Martinez.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be a local service at this time.
Interment: San Juan, Puerto Rico.
