June Vivian Ambs

June Vivan Ambs

June Vivian Ambs, age 72, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many, passed away on the afternoon of Friday, August 25, 2023 in Naples, NY.

June had a stubborn, fiery almost child-like spirit that just could NOT be matched.  Her passion for life and everything she set her mind to do was unwaveringly impossible to change.  She did everything all or nothing and with every ounce of her heart.  If she believed she could achieve it, Lord willing she would.  June may have been independent and fierce in her beliefs, but was also quite protective of those she called her own.  If she loved you, she loved you with all of who she was.  She loved her girls and her grandbabies and told anyone who would listen.

Oh, and if you weren’t aware, even though I’m sure you were, June spent many years as an-over-the-road truck driver.  She LOVED driving “her rig” and telling you all about it. In fact, if you were lucky enough to have passed June in a supermarket, she’d have likely engaged you in a lively conversation all about her years on the road driving “her rig”. This was a very proud accomplishment in her life and she loved it so much.

June loved to sing in her younger years, she also really loved horses and flowers (even though she was literally allergic to all of them).  She just loved beauty.

June was predeceased by her husband Wilbur E Ambs and sister Cindy Vandenberg.  She is survived by sisters: Karen Detandt and Debra Moss; daughters: Chrissy Lucas, Rebecca J Chapman (Joseph Krutchen), Kimberly Coombs and Tiffany Karlik (Douglas); grandchildren: Eric Lucas ((Joseph Dawe), Amanda Lucas, Shianne R Chapman (Jacob Sanford), Charles T Chapman, Chelsea Coombs, Skyelar Coombs (Tylor Silvernail), Alexia Coombs, Emily Karlik and Benjamin Karlik and great-grandchildren: Ellieanna Small (Chelsea), Grayson Silvernail (Skyelar), Autumn Mae Sanford (Shianne).

There will be a service for family and friends to celebrate June’s life on Saturday, September 9 at 12 pm at Naples Bible Church, 8833 RT 53 Naples NY 14513.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester.
