Kacie Delos Jones

Kacie Delos Jones - Brockport, NY - Rochester Cremation

10/20/1990 – 10/24/2021

Kacie Delos Jones, 31, of Brockport, NY, became a free spirt on Sunday, October 24, 2021 after battling hard against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, AKA Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Kacie is survived by his parents, Kyle and Jaimi Jones and his younger brother Jesse Jones (Summer).  In addition, his grandmothers on both sides, Aunts and Uncles and cousins on both sides, and so many loving friends.

Kacie was a 2009 high school graduate of Brockport High School where he was a three-sport athlete, his favorite, basketball amongst football and lacrosse.  As an adult he played basketball on multiple leagues and played right up until he could not hold a ball.  (ALS took the muscle function in his fingers, his arms/shoulders, and his voice articulation. His walking was very slow the past year and nearly nil at the end, then, lastly, his ability to swallow was stolen from him).

Kacie, a lover of music, nature, hiking, swimming and so much more.  Kacie loved a good conversation/debate and always participated with a calm, open minded demeanor.  Many patrons and coworkers from The Coach Sports Bar in Webster, NY will vouch for this.  Kacie tended bar for the last few years at The Coach where he met some pretty awesome people.  Kind, positive, gentle and calm Kacie was to the core.

Kacie’s wishes are for us all to be kind to each other, to share his music and his view that there is beauty everywhere and to acknowledge it and appreciate it. He wants everyone to try to keep it simple and have as much fun as you can.   Don’t wait for the perfect time.  He was a deep thinker and firmly believed in digging deeper than the surface, “do your own research”.  The songs he wrote are about living, loving, and compassionately understanding.  Spread positive vibes and keep an open mind.

A private celebration of life for Kacie will occur in early Spring 2022.  This celebration will focus on memories of Kacie with positive vibes, music, and love. We will have this celebration at a place where everyone can relax, talk, laugh, and have an option to stay overnight. Details will be shared appropriately and privately a month or so before the celebration.

Memorial contributions can be made to Lifetime Care c/o Rochester Regional Health Foundation 330 Monroe Ave Suite 400 Rochester, NY 14607 Checks payable to: Rochester Regional Healthcare and include HILDEBRANDT HOSPICE on the memo line.  You may also go on HealingALS.org and donate in his memory.  This website was a very inspiring one that Kacie felt helped people battling ALS.
