Rochester: Kathryn Rose-Barner, 50, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Katie was born on March 18, 1964, and was the daughter of Patricia Rose and the late Thomas Rose of Auburn, N.Y.
She was a Union Springs class of 1982 graduate, as well as a Cayuga Community College graduate of their RN program in 1984. Katie worked for the VA hospital system.
She was a loving, compassionate, hardworking, and determined woman with a wicked sense of humor. She faced many challengers in her life with great strength, faith, courage, and with unwavering conviction.
Katie is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Kathryn Barner, her life-long friend, Susan Bergerstock, a sister, Amy Rose, and mother, Patricia Rose. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, William D. Barner, two brothers, Jeffrey and Jeremy Rose, and father, Thomas Rose.
