Larry Gray Delahooke

Simple Cremation - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation

Larry Gray Delahooke left us for heaven early on Aug 11 2023, with his beloved son Jeffrey Scott Delahooke and beloved niece Donna Jean (DeMocker) Ward by his side.

He lives on though his son Jeffrey, his grandchildren Kari Ann Delahooke and Karl Chet Delahooke, and granddaughter-In-law Brittany Marie Delahooke. Larry is survived by his sister Rev. Janice Marie DeMocker and his brother-in-law Dr. John C. DeMocker. Larry’s memory lives on through many nieces and nephews.

Larry loved to share his musical gifts, singing, playing piano and organ at many churches and nursing homes in and around Rochester NY, and playing in several folk, jazz and 50’s ballad musical groups over the years. Larry was a kind, loving soul, an Electronics Engineer by training, with an encyclopedic knowledge of radios, test equipment and circuit boards. Larry’s passion for music never faded; over his lifetime he brought musical entertainment to thousands of people.

Services were held grave-side at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush NY on 8/18/23. Larry will be missed by all who knew him.

Miss you Larry! You had the soul of an angel and always treated others with the utmost respect. I learned from you every day. I miss our visits in Mendon, watching you play piano at nursing homes (esp. the Highlands of Pittsford – so many people there miss your music!!) and watching your face light up when you played at Open Console for the Rochester Theater Organ Society (RTOS)! Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge, humor and good cheer with Andrew, Ethan, Phoebe & I for so many years!! It hurts to know we cannot visit, call or text anymore. Blessings to you and trust you continue to share your music… Love & hugs, Donna
