On July 12th, Linda Taft (81) joined her husband of 56 years, James Taft, in the great beyond.
Linda is also predeceased by her brother, Ron Burlingame, and her parents Anne and Charles Burlingame.
Linda is survived by her son, James Taft, Jr., daughter Lori (Mark Pulvino), grandchildren Alex, Rachel (Zac Pavone) and great grandson Zander Pavone. Linda is also survived by her sister- in-law Pam (Ron) Burlingame, nieces Terra (Bob) Levy, Aimee (Mike) McCaffrey and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Linda was considered a master quilter by her peers and has several years of experience and projects to her credit. Oh, the fabric we have found!! She enjoyed making baby quilts, by the dozens, for those in need. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she made several tree skirts, wall hangings, pot holders and whatever else you can think of. She taught Jim how to make the walker bags he was known for. Though not a fan of winter, she had an extensive collection of snowmen. Prior to Jim’s passing, she enjoyed bowling in several leagues with her husband. There were often friendly disputes as to who was the better bowler.
In 2020, due to Covid, a service for Jim could not be held. A combined informal Celebration of Life will take place for both Jim and Linda on July 26th, from 2:30-5:30 at the Ontario Golf Club.

Linda’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Facility for their kindness and compassion in Linda’s final days. We can’t say enough about the care she received there. And to all the friends who called, stopped by to visit, or drop off food, thank you. She enjoyed each and every encounter. We would also like to thank Kim Duffy for her enormous heart and many hours of caregiving, and Sage Kester for the many hours spent offering companionship.

We will always remember all celebrations we have had and our boat trips to sodus! Linda always made great desserts She loved her grandchildren happy she got to meet her great grandchild Zander! !
Jim and Linda were like our second parents growing up. I can’t fathom having anyone else living next door. All of our neighbors had so much fun with and trust in each other. Ahhh..the good Ole days I’m grateful for the visits I had with her. Very very special, kind lady. Prayers for you and Jimmy and all the family.
We are very saddened by this news. So glad to have seen her a while ago when we visited our old house next door. We truly loved them both and remember the good times and funny pranks our parents used to pull on each other.
Oh yes! The pranks!!! Our parents had a sense of humor for sure. Fun memories.
