Lucy Jennie Wellington, 82, of Wolcott died on December 27, 2021 at her home with family by her side. She was born April 2, 1939 in Nedrow, NY to parents Glenn Doolittle and Alvareta Randall Doolittle. Lucy grew up in South Onondaga, NY.
She married Airman William Wellington (D) in 1956. As a military wife, Lucy lived in Taiwan, Montana, California, Arizona, and New York. She lived several years in Cayuga, NY before moving to Wolcott, NY with the Love of her life Lloyd Waite (D). Lucy most recently worked for Cahoon Farms for many years before she retired.
Lucy loved children and animals. Before Alzheimer’s Disease limited her outings, Lucy enjoyed attending church, looking for treasures at local yard sales, and caring for others including raising her eldest grandson Billy.
Lucy was preceded in death by her afore mentioned parents, and William Wellington, Lloyd Waite, her siblings Evelyn LaFramboise, Barbara Doolittle, and Tommy Doolittle. She is survived by nine children Jennie (Kerry), Betty, Bill (Catherine), Glenn, Kathleen, Lloyd Jr. (Nancy (D)), Penny (Jim), Michelle (Larry), and Raymond (Colleen); 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lucy left a living legacy.
In keeping with Lucy’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Rochester Cremation. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
