Lydia Kupchick Shriver, 99, died peacefully at home in Webster with her family by her side on Sunday, October 22. She was born on August 26, 1918, to Daniel and Mary (Chlebovich) Kupchick in Harvey, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Forrest Shriver, three brothers and one sister. She leaves behind her children, Tanya Castiglione (Lawrence), Paul (Paulette Staats), Catharine Warnick (Jay), seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Lydia served as an officer at the founding of the Webster United Church of Christ (then the Congregational Christian Church) in 1957 and for many years thereafter. She was an active volunteer at the Salem Nutrition Center and the Rochester Museum and Science Center Women’s Council. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and playing bridge, and was a passionate believer in social justice causes. Donations in her memory may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, or the Kent Arboretum in Webster.
A friend, a neighbor, so many memories… The Sunday morning breakfasts, and shopping, gardening, games. Parties, cookouts, I know we will again. Love Jinx
