Rochester NY: Monday, October 17, 2016, at the age of 57. Lynda passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is predeceased by father Richard L.; survived by mother, Arlys F., brothers Craig (Sharon) and David (Christy), “favorite” sister Janet Peartree, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fur babies.
Lynda fell in love with Jekyll Island, GA, and moved there in 1981 and later to Brunswick, GA, where she worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 15 years before moving back home to Rochester, NY, in June.
Lynda enjoyed music of all kinds, but especially the Moody Blues. She also enjoyed classic TV shows and comedy movies and could quote one witty line after another from her favorite movies. She was huge advocate for animal rescue and had adopted many cats and dogs during her short life. Lynda would ask that donations be made to Joyful Rescue or Lollypop Farm in Rochester, NY, Glynn County Animal Control, 4765 US Hwy 17N, Brunswick, GA 31523, or to your favorite animal rescue organization. We would like to thank the entire staff at the Wilmot Cancer Center, Visiting Nurse Service, and all of the nurses and volunteers at Journey Home for the excellent medical and comfort care they provided.
