Manuel Ayan, July 27, 2023 at age 93. Born on 109th Street in NY, NY, Manny was raised by his parents Pedro and Felismina in a close knit community which blessed him with his best friend and “brother” Sabino Mendoza and the love of his life, Emily who he met at age 13. After their marriage in 1952, their first three daughters were born in the Bronx, New York. He then moved their family to Floral Park, NY on Long Island, where two more daughters were born, and they raised their family until retirement.
His retirement years were spent living in Holiday, Florida and enjoying travel, golf and their grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2018, he moved with Emily from Florida to Sodus Point, New York to live with his youngest daughter. During those final years he was blessed to see the number of great grandchildren climb from 2 to 12 with number 13 arriving soon.
Manny enjoyed a successful career as a commercial artist. His company, The New Studio, was a great success with accounts like Seagrams, Time/Life, the NY Yankee Yearbook, and Girl Scouts of America, to name a few. His hard work along with the close friendships that he forged in his youth and during his working years contributed greatly to his success in the business world.
Manny was a kind and generous man. He was a fair and honest employer, a loyal and loving friend and always willing to help those who came to him in need.
He was a talented artist and enjoyed life with his family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew him and remembered with deep love and affection by his family.
