Margaret “Peg” (Cooper) Cohen, aged 71, beloved wife and mother, died June 7, 2021, following an acute illness. She was surrounded by her family, loved ones, and the thoughts and prayers of so many friends.
Peg was an amazing woman whose infectious smile and easy laugh brought joy to everyone who knew her. She was born in Wiliamson, New York, on November 9, 1949, and graduated from Williamson High School and the Rochester Institute of Technology. As a passionate volunteer leader, she achieved the highest honor the Boy Scouts of America can bestow: The Silver Beaver Award. Professionally, Peg served many physicians as a medical transcriptionist as well as a bookkeeper and business administrator. Her entrepreneurial spirit was always evident including many years as a successful Jafra representative. She sincerely loved people and was always quick to share a story and a laugh and she especially enjoyed sharing her love of history as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Her family always came first and over the past several years she enjoyed learning more about the family history as a respected genealogist.
Peg is survived by her husband of fifty years on June 25, Mark Cohen; sons Jon (Tracie) Becker, Brian (Erica Anderson) Cohen, and Steven Cohen; grandchildren Taylor, Caedmon, Thymian, Robert, and Tatiana; brothers William Cooper and Robert (Ellen) Cooper; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Florence (Bush) Cooper, of Williamson, NY.
