Margaret “Peggy” Helen (Uline) Cole

Fairport NY:  Peggy passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016 in Fairport, NY, at the age of 93 of complications from Parkinson’s. Peggy resided in Marblehead, MA and then Danvers, MA prior to moving to Fairport, NY five years ago. She was born on November 18, 1922 in Troy, NY to the late John and Isabel “Elsie” (Stickelmann) Uline. She is also predeceased by two ex-husbands, Walter F. Dankoff and Jesse Brainard Cole, a daughter, Susan Marie Dankoff; six siblings, Ruth (Uline) Brown, J. Shirley Uline, Dorothy (Uline) Dobbins, Richard Uline, Lynetta (Uline) Heggen, and Charles Uline; and a nephew, John “Johnny” Heggen. Peggy will be dearly missed by her surviving family; twin daughters and their husbands, Katherine E. and Louis Scibelli of Beverly, MA and Kristen E. and Thomas Lindo of Fairport, NY; and four grandsons, Jess E. Cole and his wife Jana R. Cole of Salem, NH, Matthew M. Doe, Adam R. Doe, and Alex C. Doe, all three of Fairport, NY; a great-granddaughter, Jianna R. Cole of Salem, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy graduated from Troy High School, Troy NY, in 1940, then continued on to nursing school, proudly graduating at the top of her class at Samaritan Hospital. She enjoyed a long career, working first as a nurse, before changing careers and working as a bookkeeper, retiring from Salem Glass Company, Salem, MA. Peggy loved family gatherings, being at the ocean, especially the rocky Maine coastline, spending her days quilting once she retired, becoming a master quilter, enjoyed working with pottery, loved to read books, work in her garden, and she went for long walks virtually every day until becoming ill.

Peggy will be laid to rest with her daughter Susan in Troy, NY, where a graveside family service will be held.
