Marguerite (Mickey) Baker - Gates, NY - Rochester Cremation

Gates, NY: Marguerite (Mickey) Baker, 74, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

She was born on March 31, 1946 and graduated from Greece Olympia High School in 1964. She married Joseph Baker on September 4, 1965 in Rochester, NY.

Mickey found the most joy in taking care of her family. She never missed a sporting event or activity for her children and carried on that tradition with her grandchildren. Above all, she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and nana.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Joseph; her father, Stanley Jerzak; and her brothers Frank Poulton and Charles Poulton.

She is survived by her mother, Edith Jerzak; children Lisa (Nick) DiFalco, Michael Baker, Kristine (John) Brennan, and Joseph (Gary) Baker; grandchildren McKenzie Baker (Matthew), Mikaela Baker, Thomas Couse, Ryan (Kelly) Couse, Kimberly Couse, Clare Brennan, and Catherine Brennan; great-grandson Grayson Couse, brothers Martin Jerzak and Peiter (Mary) Jerzak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial is planned for Spring 2021. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Joe and Mickey Baker Scholarship Fund to help support a graduate of Gates-Chili High School that pursues education in a skilled trade, to 402 Ransdall Court, Indianapolis, IN 46227.

My godmother, my aunt oh how I will miss you. You were the best role model and I loved spending time with you, especially when you taught me how to drive! I missed seeing you after I moved to TX but never stopped thinking of you and Uncle Joe. I’m glad you’re reunited with him and no longer suffering. I will love you forever.

I can’t even begin to describe the hole you are leaving in my heart. Memories of time spent with you from a little girl up to an adult. Your smile and laugh, your love and kindness. I’m happy you are at peace and with Uncle Joe again. I love you and miss you more than words can convey.

My sister “Mickey” came into this worldonths before I did and was Big Sister for 73+ years. She may have gone to rejoice the Lord, but her presence will always remain in my life. Her voice is clear as a young sister calling ” Mom–Peiter’s doing so-and-so”, or as as that as a mother herself sharing stories of her children. I will always see her face will as smile across it. And I will never forget that every hug included an I Love You
