Rochester NY: Age 91, passed peacefully in her sleep on 11/21/16. Born and raised in Cohocton NY, Marje moved to Dansville after marrying Ralph, then Hornell before spending 29 years in Madison IN to help with their son, David’s, business. After Ralph died, Marje moved to assisted living in Lima, NY to be near her daughters, Dianne Rapp and Jean Kiefer.
Always leading an active life, in NY, Marje worked full-time at auto dealerships in Dansville, then Hornell. She was also involved in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Perkinsville; Order of the Eastern Star, South Dansville; and Buds and Blossoms Square Dance Club, Hornell. In Indiana, Marje was the office manager for David’s construction business, attended North United Methodist Church, sold Longaberger baskets, and was an active volunteer at King’s Daughters’ Hospital, Welcome Wagon, and the Madison Historical Society.
Marje is survived by her children David Kiefer – FL, Dianne (Louis) Rapp – Dansville/FL, and Jean Kiefer – Avon; grandchildren Rod (Julie) – IN, Mark (Amy) Kiefer – IN, Joshua (Molly) Rapp – MA, Ashley (Ryan) Clark – NC, Lauren (Luke) Wood – IN; great grandchildren Connor, Case, Blake, Emily Kiefer and Whitney Clark; also her sisters Janet (Allan) Cragg – FL and Rita Oestreich – WI; and brother-in-law, Richard Kiefer – Dansville. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph 2008, father Loris Graves 1963 and mother Laura Brown Graves 1992.
A private memorial service will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.
