Pittsford, NY: Martha P. Giese (Sue) 1941-2021
Sue left us to walk with the Lord on April 25, 2021, in the comfort of her home and family, after a heroic fight with ovarian cancer. Sue was light-hearted and kind, always open to sharing a cup of coffee or listening ear. She taught Sunday School at Christ Church in Pittsford for 40 years, influencing the spiritual lives of generations of children. Sue loved sports, dark chocolate M&Ms, road tripping and taking long walks with friends. She gave generously of her time and money throughout her life. She was quick to laugh and rarely had a harsh word for anyone who was not a politician. We will miss her every day.
Sue is predeceased by her husband Robert Giese. She is survived by her brother Charles Phelps and his wife Gloria, her children Elizabeth (Dave) Boyd, Mark Giese, Debra (Chad) Stewart, and Robert Giese Jr. (Yvonne), and her four grandchildren, Anna, J.D., Lily, and Eli.
A small service will be held at Christ Church in Pittsford on May 15 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to your favorite charity in Sue’s name, or toast her with a cup of coffee with a good friend.
