West Henrietta, NY: Passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 22, 2015 at Strong Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. A gathering in her memory will be 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Spring Meadow Apartment’s Community Room. Born Jan. 22, 1943, in Batavia, NY a daughter of Glenn and Verna Mae Bowers Roberts, she graduated from Alexander High School, class of 1961. Mary married Joseph Cooney, which later ended in divorce.
Mary was retired from Mckesson Corporation. She enjoyed reading novels, watching classic movies, and had a love of animals. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Beth Cooney of West Henrietta; two nieces, Barbara (Ted) Hopfinger Stokes, Holland, MI and Rebecca (Andrew Driver) Hopfinger of Clayton; three great nieces. Mary was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Glenna and Hubert Hopfinger; and nephew Mark Hopfinger.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport NY.
Mary’s family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Strong Hospital for their care and comfort shown to Mary and a very special thanks to the caring neighbors at Spring Meadow Apartments.
