Mary Ann (Tygert) Esmerian

Mary Ann Esmerian - Rochester Cremation

Mary Ann (Tygert) Esmerian of Pittsford, NY, passed away on November 29, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she is predeceased by beloved husband of 56 years, Ohannes Esmerian; parents Franklin and Rosalie Harris, Franklin Tygert; brother Donald Tygert; sister Barbara Mayne. She is survived by her daughter and her husband Nancy and Hugh Hastings, daughter Patti Esmerian, son Greg Esmerian; was a proud and loving Nanni to grandkids Atri and Geoff Hastings, Alli Esmerian; and is also survived by sister Carolyn Mayne; sister-in-law Berdjouhi Esmerian; her faithful companion, her dog, Cassie.

Raised in Webster, NY, she graduated from Nasson College in Springvale, Maine, where she studied Medical Technology. She worked in the clinical laboratories of The Genesee Hospital where she met her husband. She retired from Eastman Kodak Company where she worked in the medical lab. She then worked for many years from home as a medical transcriptionist so she could take care of her three grandchildren who were the loves of her life.

Mary Ann also loved Maine and visited annually. She considered Boothbay Harbor her second home. She would always say that “I found it first,” and “Pemaquid Point is my favorite place on Earth.”

She was an avid gardener with a very green thumb. She loved to dig in the dirt. Mary Ann was the strongest woman any of us have ever known. Her family was her passion, as well as sharing her incredible sense of humor through inside jokes with her grandkids.

There will be no calling hours or memorial service per Mary Ann’s request. Instead, she would like a PARTY to celebrate her life. The celebratory party will take place on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Kings Bend Park in Pittsford from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Family and friends are welcome.

Special thanks to Dr. Deepak and staff, specifically Kristen and Jeff, at Wilmot Cancer Center for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Humane Society at Lollypop Farm or Rosemary Farm Sanctuary 1646 Roses Brook Road South Kortright NY 13842.

May Mary Ann rest in peace. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Nancy, Patti, and Greg.. I am so sorry to hear that your mother passed away. As children we played together, and she laughed at our childish behavior. She taught me how to cook some dinner appetizers. I remember coming over to visit with her and your dad. They still behaved like a young couple in love. I will miss both of your parents deeply. Please stay in touch. Now when we look up at the night sky, we will see them both looking back down at us. We had some wonderful memories.
    My condolences to you all

Oh she will be missed, I sent her a message on Facebook just days before Thanksgiving, acknowledging her first Thanksgiving without John, and now this difficult news for her family…a loving, smart, kind and generous classmate❤️❤️❤️❤️

To Nancy, Patti, Greg, and extended family, I am so sorry for your loss! I remember your mom as “Aunt Chicky” (the fun auntie). I will forever be grateful for her and her sister flying out to CA to help with my mom’s end stage cancer. May her love and generous spirit live on in your hearts. She will be missed, but will live forever in our memories!
