Mary Lou Virginia Suter

Mary Lou Suter - PIttsford, NY - Rochester Cremation

Mary Lou Suter, 72, born in Schenectady, New York, residing in Pittsford, New York, entered into eternal life after a very long battle with cancer on December 14, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Mary Lou was predeceased by her loving husband David Suter and longtime dearest friend, Tom Ross, her loving parents, Frances Anna Balbian and William Gardner Abbott.  She is survived by her three devoted sons whom she loved very much; Bruce Wilson Jr. (Monique), Chad Wilson (Jeanne), and Eric Wilson (Rebecca.) Her sister, Janice Abbott O’Keeffe (Alan) who was not just a loving sister, but her very best friend.  Her grandchildren; Andrea (Josh), Brooke (Cole), Christina, Leviticus, Kolter, Eric Jr., Jenna, Jordan, Brandon and Nathan.  Also four great grandchildren; Wayne, Beau, Boone, and Paisley.

Mary Lou was a devoted bus driver for the Pittsford Central School District for 32 years.  She found so much joy and fulfillment in all of the wonderful children she met and watched grow.  Each morning these children entered her bus with a beautiful smile from Mary Lou to start their day.  Mary Lou’s true love was her dog and companion, Freddie, who always gave her unconditional love and affection.  Mary Lou depended on her catholic faith and love for the Blessed Virgin Mother.  She never missed weekly mass, and always found solace in saying the rosary.  Faith was of utmost importance to her especially through her battle with cancer.  Mary Lou will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Mary Lou’s request, there will not be any services.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wilmot Cancer Institute, 300 East River Road P.O. Box 278996, Rochester, NY 16627 in Mary Lou Suter’s memory.

I want Mary Lou’s family to know how highly regarded she was at Pittsford Transportation. Her coworkers (including management) and the students she transported (and their parents/caregivers) all felt the same way about her. She was truly adored by all who were fortunate enough to interact with her. She will be sincerely missed. My condolences to Mary Lou’s family and to all who loved this incredible woman🐾

Rest in peace, dear Mary Lou. She drove our 2 daughters to Mendon Center Elementary school, middle school, and Sutherland High School from 1996 to 2011. All the children and parents in our neighborhood loved her. She was always friendly and smiling. I’m sorry she suffered from cancer, but I hope her strong faith and her family gave her comfort and strength.
