Melanie Kachala - Rush, NY - Rochester Cremation

Rush, NY:  Passed on January 8, 2020.  Born July 1940 to Frank and Stella Wieczorek in Glen Lyon, Pa. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis and their 3 children. Michael of Avon Lake, OH., Jeffrey (Teresa Garvey) and Ann. Grandchildren Melissa (Steven Dearstyne), Jennifer, Brian, Nicholas, Christopher and Jonathan, Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Francis (Mary) and Narcy Yenchak (Althea). Mel was a graduate of Newport HS in Wanamie, PA. and Wilkes Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career included the Nanticoke State Hospital and VA Hospital in Wilkes Barre, PA., and Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, NY which she retired from in December, 2000 as a Nurse Manager

Melsfamily, friends, neighbors and the Lord where her first priority. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and socializing, especially as a snowbird at their villa home in Timber Pines, Spring Hill, Fl

Family and friends are invited to St. Marianne Cope Parish at St. Joseph’s (1209 Rush West Rush Rd.) for calling from 10-11 AM followed by an 11AM Memorial Mass all held on SATURDAY, January 18, 2020. Interment at Ascention Garden Cementry will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Melsname may be sent to Alzheimers Association, 435 E Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620. Condolences can be sent to www.Rochestercremation.com
