Penfield, NY: Nick, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Nick was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Tatiana Lysenko, and his sister Katherine (Roman) Kuzylak. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail (Nash) Lysenko; daughter Debra Castellani (Paul Sarro); and sons John (Kara) Lysenko and Steven (Jennifer) Lysenko; Grandchildren Michael and Lauren Castellani and their father David, Connor Lysenko, Molly Frachel, Madilyn and Max Lysenko, and Michael and Andrew Yaw. Nick is also survived by his dear niece Tanya Kuzylak (Arthur Graham) who was more like a younger sister to him; his brothers-in-law Ronald Nash and Paul Nash; several nieces and nephews; the Lanzisera family, Patrick Roche, Judy Burns and our many other wonderful friends.
Family was everything to Nick. He was a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, the best that anyone could ever have. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank: Dr. Peter Kouides and his incredible team at the Lipson Cancer Center; Dr. Anne Yawman, Nick’s geriatrician; and the dedicated hospice care team from Lifetime Care, especially Gail Brodner and Caroline Marzello.
A private memorial service to honor Nick’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in his honor to the Rochester and Finger Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Lipson Cancer Institute.
