Nic’s life was full of laughter and music. From directing Community Theater to designing and building beautiful folk instruments that found their way around the world, he was a man of many talents.

Nic will be remembered for breaking out in song at any given moment, for his quick wit, always at hand with a joke. “I’ve got a MILLION of ‘em!”

Nic was predeceased by his wife Thalia. Survived by his loving family, daughters, Maria Hambas and Demetra Hambas, Grandson Nic Carpenter and partner Gwen Norton and his very dear friend, brother in song, David Russell.

The family would like to thank everyone at Brentland Woods Assisted Living for taking such good care of Nic while he lived there.

There will be a private internment.

My heart is with you guys! We had such stable loving families! May the memories your parents created for you come back during this difficult time and the weeks/months to come as little smells or songs remind you with a smile how much you were loved!

I worked with Nic for a number of years at Kodak. I remember him for always having a smile on his face and a joke at the ready. What a legacy to leave such memories for so many of us. Would that all of us have such a forever positive outlook on life.

Creative in every way. Nic was a writer, a film and theatrical director, a musician, a craftsman, a humorist and a person you really liked being with. A hilarious jokester, Nic brightened every meeting, lunch or just a walk down the street with him. Greek gods will welcome him, but we will miss him so very much.
