Paul Bruce Barletta

Paul Bruce Barletta - Spencerport, NY - Rochester Cremation

SPENCERPORT, NY– Paul Bruce Barletta won his battle with cancer early on the morning of Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the age of fifty-eight. He was at home, surrounded by family, sleeping peacefully as he stepped into eternity with his Savior Jesus. He was steadfast and brave, focused on the needs of others above his own—until his last day on earth. He fought his battle with cancer courageously and won the ultimate prize in heaven. He will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his wife, Lisa Sue Riddle; his children Zachary & Heidi, Lindsay, Spencer & Jenna; his grandchildren Chase Lawson, Arwen Rose, Henrik Harrison, & Ryland Finn; his parents Geri Hasman, Bruce Barletta & Carol Snedeker; his siblings, Karen, David & Debbie.

Paul was born on December 17, 1961. He attended God and Country Christian School, later Northstar Christian Academy. He married his high school sweetheart, Lisa, on December 18, 1981. During the 38 years Paul and Lisa were married, they travelled the world. One of their favorite trips was to London as a family in 2007.

Paul spent 37 years working for the United States Postal Service, officially retiring as a Maintenance Engineering Specialist on July 3, 2020. His coworkers remember him as a kind, funny, hard-working man. He celebrated his retirement this summer with his family and he was proud to be “off-the-clock.”

He was a member of First Bible Baptist Church. He encouraged his family to be involved in many facets of ministry. He was an active member in the church choir for many years.

Paul’s favorite activities all involved being with his family. He was most at home playing euchre around the kitchen table with Lisa and his children and daughters-in-law. Zachary, Lindsay, and Spencer will most remember that Paul was a loving and involved father, who supported them in all of their interests and pursuits. Paul had a quirky sense of humor: he was quick to make “dad jokes” or photobomb serious pictures. As his children added to the Barletta family through marriage and birth—Paul stepped into the role of father-in-law and grandpa with excitement. He enjoyed being around his grandchildren and teaching them new things.

He was a teacher at heart, whether it was how to best cut a watermelon, how to play euchre, or how to fix a complicated machine at work—he was patient to explain the best way to accomplish the task at hand.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, 10/24/2020 at 11 am at First Bible Baptist Church located at 990 Manitou Road, Hilton NY, 14468.
