Rochester NY: Passed away January 22, 2019. Elly was born in 1940 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She immigrated first to Canada in 1965 and then to Rochester, NY a few years later, where she raised her beloved children. Predeceased by her parents Nell and Pieter Mosselman and sister Ans, she is survived by and missed dearly by her children Cindy (Chuck) McIntosh and Peter (Olga) Verhoef, grandson Nicholas Verhoef, sisters Riet and Killy (Sandra), dear friend Tina, and many extended family members and friends.
Elly had a caring, open nature, a boisterous sense of humor and a soft spot for slightly crazy cats. She would help anyone in need – whether she knew you well or just met you – and was lovingly devoted to her family and friends. She was a former award-winning trap shooter, a professional model, a fun and funny friend. Elly was a great mom, a cool grandma, and a terrible driver. She was all these things, and above all, she was an amazing soul. Those whose hearts she touched are forever grateful to have known and loved her.
The family wishes to thank those who cared for Elly her during her illness. Interment will be private and a celebration of Elly’s life will be held at a later date. Contributions in Elly’s memory may be made to Pet Pride of NY (petprideny.org) or Lollypop farm.
