Survived by his wife Patricia (Pat) Ashworth; son, Ray Charles Ashworth Jr.; mother, Elfriede Thygesen; sisters, Patricia (Patty) Raustler and Kelli Robinson; step children, Paul Harmon, Rhonda Haefele, John Harrity; brother in law, Lee “Ricky” Christoff; grandchildren, Gunnar and Hunter Harmon; great-granddaughter, Melody Harmon; nieces and nephews, Michael, Christina, and Kyle Raustler, Samantha and Justin Robinson, Heidi Pitcher; great nieces and nephews, Roxanne Baldwin, Nicole and Ethan Pitcher, Brynn Robinson, Jaxon and Peyton Raustler; Aunts and Uncle Sylvia Pedrick, Charlie Ashworth, Roberta Ashworth, Rachel Whitney, and Susan Riddervold; cousins Donnie Farnsworth, Jennifer Ashworth, Charlie and Billy Riddervold, and Patrick Ashworth; life-long friend Joe Ferris; his beloved dog Bo and predeceased by Sambo, as well as many friends.

Ray had a true passion for hot-rods, vintage cars, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He loved going to the races and car shows. He could spot a Mopar a mile away. He spent his career truck driving. His favorite era was the 50’s, chrome everything, Elvis Presley, duck-tail hair, Made in the USA, diners, and going to the Drive-Ins. He was also a dedicated member of God’s House of Refuge in Rochester, NY.  Although he was saved and knew Jesus as his personal Savior many years ago, he found true love, comfort, and friendship with his church family over the last 2 years. He always said, “Pastor Theordore’s teachings are spot-on!” And he loved bringing his family.

Anyone who knew Ray, knew him to be a great man and good friend. Like any true gentlemen he loved his mom and spending time with her. He’s always been very proud of his son, Little Ray. And enjoyed the love and commitment of his wife of 24 years, Pat.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie

down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside still waters. He resoreth my

soul: he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea,

though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil:

for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest

a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head

with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
