Raymond “Sonny” John Trenkler Jr.

Veteran Cremation - Rohester Cremation

Henrietta NY:  Raymond “Sonny” John Trenkler Jr.  On the afternoon of December 9th, 2015, Ray passed peacefully of natural causes at home with his wife and children by his side. Ray was 85 years old.

Born June 14th, 1930, in Rochester, NY, Ray was preceded in death by: his son, Raymond Trenkler III, his grandson, Raymond Trenkler IIII, sisters, Pauline (Kenneth) Hueth and Loretta White, and special cousin Arlene Blue.

Ray was survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte “Char-baby” Trenkler, son Dane Trenkler, daughter Diann Trenkler, granddaughter Samantha Coons, grandsons Michael (Jess) Colangelo and RayJ ”Paco” Trenkler, along with five great grandsons. Also survived by brother-in-law Herb (Leah) White and cousin-in-law Doug Blue and family and many nieces and nephews.

An avid reader, Ray’s story is a bestseller and his humor and zest for life were second only to his good looks. Ray joined the army and proudly served his country from 1947-1951, stationed in Korea and Japan. A mover and a shaker, he traveled, coast to coast many times, with friends all along the way. Ray wore many hats in life including medic, actor/dancer, salesman and one that said, “Take this job and shove it.” Above all, Ray’s is a love story between he and his wife Char, that showed an entire cast what true love and devotion mean. Ray is a beloved character that will be greatly missed, yet always remain in the hearts of his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the veterans at Canandaigua V.A.

At Ray’s request there will be no services.
