Ontario, NY: Passed away on September 24th at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sandra; children, Keith (Nancy), Paul (Nicole), Scott (Sondra), Annelise (Brian); grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas (Brittany), Alyssa, Elise, Aspen, Cierra, Ryan, and Tyler; Sister, Margaret.
Dick met the love of his life, Sandra, in a singing group at the German Club in Rochester. It was love at first sight! They continued their love of singing throughout their life together, whether it be a love song to one another, a Christmas song, or a lullaby to one of their beloved grandchildren.
Dick took over his dad’s business in 1966, Bel-Gra Printers, when his father fell ill and worked tirelessly for 47 years printing labels for canning businesses in the Rochester area. Many family vacations were cut short as those labels had to be printed!
Dick will be remembered as a kind, honest, and compassionate person. He was an avid woodworker, handyman, and craftsman. He loved the water, daily walks with his wife in Webster Park, and had a passionate love affair with food!
Dick will remain in our hearts and memories as a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend. The greatest joy in his later years was being a “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren. His last wish was granted as he was able to attend his grandson’s wedding in June!
Please join us on October 17th from 12pm – 5pm at the Lakeview Lodge, Webster … to celebrate Richie’s life. Bring your memories and stories to share.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I have so many great memories of our holidays together (singing Christmas carols, the flaming pudding, etc) and of all our years running the neighborhood on lake road and him coming out to check on us. Sending you all lots of love during this difficult time
Sending tight hugs and prayers to all the Schneller families. He will definitely be missed. Will surely miss the birthday phone call songs!!
Love from the Ohio Schnellers!!
There will be a huge void in our family without Richie! He was a man of few words, but his action always spoke more than words. He would stop whatever he was doing to help any one of us out at anytime! He loved his entire family and loved when we would all get together for whatever reason. I think our bonfires where always one of his favorites and as always our holidays where filled with special times for the love of food and many games being played! Richie was much more than a Father in Law to me, he was just like my Dad that passed away many years ago. I will cherish our many memories that we had together. Love you Richie!!! I will miss you always!!!
Papa will be missed dearly. I have fond memories of traveling to the Adirondacks every summer to camp up at Indian Lake. He was amazing, always willing to go hiking, swimming, and whatever other outdoor activity we could think of. I appreciate all the times he sat through a game of Uno with me, or taught me magic tricks with cards and even how to play solitaire. I could always count on him to share a bag of chips with me (salt and vinegar were one of our favorites). If I could have just one more day of sharing a good laugh, a yummy bag of chips, and an “I love you,” well that would just about make me the happiest girl. I will always be your little Lissie Mae.
Xoxo,
Your loving granddaughter
Dearest Ones, The picture and story are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us. I am heart broken. Uncle Dick was such a special person and I loved him dearly. With few words spoken his gentle soul let you know how much he cared about you and he would always crack you up with a one liner no matter the conversation. Truly one of a kind. He will forever remain in my heart and for this I am thankful. God bless him and you all. Sending hugs full of love, Hannelore
Sending love to the Schneller family. So sorry to hear about Mr. Schneller’s passing. He was always kind to me as a young girl. And I definitely had some special times with your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers and sending love.

I am incredibly thankful for all the memories Papa and I had the opportunity to make together – there were many of them. Some of my favorites are from our trips up to the Adirondacks, where we spent long weekends camping, hiking, and sailing the Puffer on Indian Lake. Papa always had a lust for adventure and excitement in life, even as he got older, and it’s a quality I hope to have too. As recently as last year, at the age of 85, he went tubing on Sodus Bay, and he was skiing into his mid-70’s!
I am so grateful that he was able to attend my wedding in June. I will forever cherish that last memory I have with him, and all the ones before it. Love you, Papa.
Papa was a great man and I feel so blessed to have known him. He was a kind person who loved his family more than anything. I am grateful that he was able to attend Nick and my wedding this year, it meant the world to us. Love you papa and I hope you’re enjoying a Genny Cream Ale up in heaven. Love, Brut <3
I am feel blessed to have had Uncle Dick as my GodFather and am honored that my middle name is Richard (after him). I have so many great memories of him throughout the years. Whether it was skiing at Bluemont, camping at Skybrook, or family events, he always showed up in a good mood and ready to have fun. Whatever we kids were doing – hikes, playing soccer, singing around the campfire, canoeing, playing marco polo, or lighting off fireworks, he always participated. I will especially remember his soft demeanor, witty comments, and infectious smile. Rest In Peace Uncle Dick and thanks for your impact in my life! I love you and will miss you. My condolences to Tante Sandra, Keith, Paul, Scott, Anneliese and all of your families and loved ones.
Richie was such a kind soul. I have fond memories of his slo-mo Mr Fixit projects (LOL). And the 12 pack of Cream Ale bday gifts that I would always save for him to drink on his visits. RIP Richie! Cheers to a great man!
