Rochester, NY- April 22nd,2023 at the age of 60. Ricky is predeceased by his parents Ella and William Van Alstyne, and his sister Hope Moye. Ricky is survived by his wife Christine, his daughters Asia, Rashonda Greer and son Ricky Greer, sister Wynnett (Ronald) Muhammad, Alan (Sharon) Van Alstyne, Ryan (Sonya) Van Alstyne, grandchildren Oliver and Olivia, and many uncles, aunts. nieces and nephews.
Ricky served 9 years in the United States Air Force, where he was a Reprographics Specialist. During his time in the Air Force, Ricky was afforded the opportunity to travel near and far. One of his favorite duty stations was Osan Air Force Base in South Korea. After being honorably discharged, Ricky returned to Rochester, where he worked for various employers including Schlegel Corp and Strong Hospital. Ricky had a love for cooking, golf, snowboarding and photography. He was also an enthusiastic Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Thank you to the nurses and staff of the DeMay Living Center and his hospice team for the care given to him in his final days. The family would like to thank you for all the care, support, and kindness you have shown him and our family.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday 4/28/2023 from 3pm to 6pm, with military honors to follow at Rochester Cremation Event Center, 1118 Long Pond Rd., Rochester, NY 14626 .Β Please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Rickyβs memory.
