Robert ‘Bob” James Bonnewell
Rochester, NY: Sunday, September 29th, 2024 at the age of 77
DEVOTED & WELL LOVED HUSBAND, DAD, GRANDPA…LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS…BEST NEIGHBOR…CAREER WELDER…AVID CAMPER…MUSIC LOVER… HUGE FOOTBALL FAN…CAMPFIRE FANATIC
Bob will be sorely missed by his family and friends, but our memories will live on forever. We will remember his kindness, generosity, and joyous appreciation of life along with his ability to include all around him in that joy.
Bob is predeceased by his parents William F and Shirley (Power) Bonnewell as well as his brother, Donald L Bonnewell. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sharp) Kohler-Bonnewell.
He is survived by 5 children: Dawn Brlecic, Mary Jo Bonnewell, Robert J (Michele) Bonnewell Jr, Terri (Jose) Mercado and Erin (Matt) Brightman.
Surviving grandchildren are Ryan, Paige, Amanda, Natalie, Nathan, Anthony (Tiana), Cameron (Barrie), Vanessa (Andrew), Nick, Pierce, and Avery. Plus great-grands Andrew, Nolan, Avie, Berklee and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Rochester, but loved his trips to where we had our camper for many years. His campfires are still legendary and remembered fondly by his grandchildren and their friends. On football Sundays (and many others) he would gladly order Perry’s Pizza, along with wings for everyone. Oh, and I can’t forget all the trips to Schallers or Olive Garden with the family.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at St. Paul Exempt, 690 Thomas Ave in Irondequoit from 1-5 pm on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024. Light refreshments provided. If wishing to make a donation in Bob’s memory please direct it to the American Heart Association.
I am so sorry for your loss and I hope all your wonderful memories will bring you peace.
Thank you for letting us know- will plan to attend this opportunity to celebrate Bob’s life November 3rd.
Carol, So sorry to hear of your loss. Our sympathy and prayers for you and your family.
So very sorry for your loss, Carol.
Carol, There are not words that I can think of that will take your grief away. I do know that Bob will be with you every day. He has left the physical world as we know it but is part of you. People die. Love does not. He is with every breath you take and in every beat of your heart. Look for signs and enjoy your life as I am sure he would want you to. Love, Joanne
Carol – I’m so sorry for your loss.
