Robert J. Boggs

Robert Boggs - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, NY:  March 19, 2020 at age 58.

Rob is survived by his wife Valerie; son Steven; beloved grandson Cody; mother Shirley; sister Cindy (Ed) Staff; sister Kathy; brother Richard; sister Valeri; brother Larry (Traci); mother-in-law Barbara Birkett; brother-in-law William Watson; brother-in-law Michael Watson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his good friend and business partner, Marc Speary.

Rob and Marc started their business, Speary & Boggs Painting in 1987. They built it into a well respected company from the ground up with just the two of them.

Rob was an avid Bills fan and loved watching them on tv as well as going to the games. He loved NASCAR, fishing, hunting, boating, and motorcycle riding.

Rob took pride in everything he did. He loved his house and was always improving it in one way or another. He would spend hours on projects both inside and out, working diligently till he got it all just right.

To Cody and his friends he was “Pops”, sitting around the fire pit in the back yard. He loved all the pets that came and went through the years. He helped his wife with the foster care of many cats and helped her with her volunteering at pet adoption events.

There will be a Celebration of his Life sometime in the future that will be announced at a later date.

Rob was the best son-in-law that any mother-in-law could ever have. I loved him like a son, not a son-in-law. Holidays and birthdays will never be the same.
    Love, Mumsy

I am so very sorry for your loss! Rob was a free spirited, fun loving soul who would give you the shirt off of his back if he knew you needed it. I will never forget the first time I met Rob, I remember thinking to myself “holy shit, what a kindred spirit… I’ve met someone that talks louder and has a bigger personality than me!” Rob was a man of many talents and his fun nature could light up any room he walked into. The world won’t be the same without your physical presence on Earth. But, you’ll always be in the hearts of the people that loved you and missed by all the lives that you’ve touched. Rest In Peace and fly high with the angels. Much love and strength to a family that I called my own! 💜🙏🏼💚

I knew Rob only briefly and during that time was invited to his home on two occasions where he made me feel welcomed and at ease. I wish that life would have allowed me to know him longer.

Rob was one of the best friends I ever had.
I knew him for 40 years and spent a great deal of time with him and Val during that time.
I can attest to Rob’s generosity, ingenuity and zest for life and these attributes can be seen plainly by simply driving by the house He, Val and Cody shared all these years as it was always meticulously maintained and stands as the model for the neighborhood.
I, like so many people, miss Rob terribly and will never forget him.
God bless you and I pray that He keeps you in love for eternity.
