Rodney Lavern Brown Sr. - Rochester Cremation

Rodney Lavern Brown Sr., 56 of Rochester, NY, peacefully passed away on November 14 in the hospital surrounded by love ones, after a difficult battle with diabetes, strokes, and chronic heart disease.

Rodney Lavern Brown Sr., was born in 1966 to Newton Brown and Winfreda Miller in Rochester, NY. Rodney graduated from Benjamin Franklin high school in 1984. He was a member of his varsity basketball team where the name “Hot Rod” started and also found the love of art, music and was avid musician on drums. He then in 2015 pursued a degree in Human Services at Monroe Community College.

He overcome a long battle with addiction and in 2015, he met the love of his life Andrea Love at St. Mary’s Hospital where they both worked. In 2016, they wed. He leaves behind his wife of 6 years and 10 children Robert aka Buddha Harris, Sharonda, Rodney Jr., Kenneth, Christopher, Dalonda, Nick, Tajah, Joshua and Bre- Nae’ Brown,  his 23 beautiful grandchildren, stepdaughter Sylecia Johnson and 2 step grandchildren.

Rodney was predeceased by his parents, Newton Brown and Winfreda Miller. He is survived by his wife Andrea Brown, siblings Jason Hurell Sr., Kim Hurell, Antoinette Brown and Lorenzo Brown and his ten children and 23 grandchildren.

Services will be held on December 5th from 2-5pm at Rochester Cremation, 1118 Long Pond Road, Rochester (Greece), 14626.

We, the family of the late Rodney L. Brown Sr.,  express our deepest heartfelt thanks for all you have done especially the ones who have traveled far and near to show us love in the passing of our beloved Rodney. Thank you and God Bless.

    My deepest condolences and sympathy to my sister and the Brown family & friends. Dear God, please give us strength when we’re weak, love when we feel forsaken, courage when we’re afraid, wisdom when we feel foolish, comfort when we’re alone, hope when we feel rejected, and peace when we’re in turmoil. Heavenly Father, you are the comforter and the healer grant us the strength to continue during these difficult days in Jesus name Amen!
