Ronald J Richardson “Ron”

Ronald Richardson - Rochester Cremation

In loving memory of Ronald J Richardson

Ronald “Ron” Richardson of Fairport, NY passed away on May 18, 2024, at the age of 80.  He is finally at peace after dealing with serious health issues over the last few years. Ron is predeceased by his parents Leslie and Ethel Richardson. He is survived by his wife Judy; stepdaughters Michelle (Jeff) Dormitzer, Nicole (German) Dache; four beloved grandchildren Jack, Ella, Andrew and Gabriella; Sister Elaine (Chuck) McCombs; many nieces, nephews and cousins; several in-laws, and numerous friends.

Ron held an MBA in both Business and Finance. After retiring from Kodak, he started and owned two automotive-oriented businesses. Cars and auto memorabilia were a large part of his life.  He was a member of Rochester Street Rod Club, owner of classic autos, and lover of motor sports.   His proudest accomplishment was when he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a member of the 200+ mph club when he raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in 2008.

Ron was a proud veteran who served as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1968-1971.  He was an expert marksman, world traveler, car hobbyist, respected mentor to many and a true gentleman.  He had a passion for learning, and was a great conversationalist.  He was known for striking up a conversation with just about anybody—even strangers.  Friends and family were extremely important to him. His intelligence, wit and wisdom will be remembered by all.

A celebration of his  life will be held later this summer.

Very sad to hear that Ron has passed away. I always admired his cars. I last saw Ron at the reunion in 2016. Living in Texas I mainly keep up with family on Facebook. Rest in peace Ron.
