Walworth – Ronald (Ron) was born August 4, 1935 in Syracuse, NY, peacefully passed away at home after a lengthy illness on May 7, 2019, age 83. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold B. and Edna M. Smith; grandson, Christopher J. Vendel. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maureen G. Smith; children, Tina Smith, Debora (Shawn) Orchard, Jim (Ruth) Smith; grandchildren, Michelle Vendel, Megan Smith (Caleb); brother, Ken (Gwen) Smith and many nieces and nephews.
After a lengthy career, Ron retired from Xerox Corporation. He loved the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and watching other sports on T.V. He was also a life member of the Walworth Sportsman Club.
A graveside service will be held with full Military Honors on May 24, 2019 at 1pm at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at Maureen’s house.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Walworth Sportsman’s Club for his grandson Christopher Vendel’s scholarship fund in the memo line. PO Box 104, Walworth, NY 14568.
